Cheerleading has always been more than a sport for Community Christian senior Kallie Wesson. For her it has been a constant source of growth, discipline, and community for the past 11 years. What started as following in the footsteps of her older sister, Hannah, quickly grew into a great passion that has shaped who Kallie is today.
Some of Kallie’s favorite memories come from the biggest stages. One standout moment was competing at FCC Nationals in Florida and earning a first-place finish, an experience she describes as unforgettable. Along with that national title, Kallie is proud to have earned one Competitive State Championship, one Gameday State Championship, and a Gameday State Runner-Up finish. Each accomplishment reflects years of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance.
Kallie draws her greatest motivation from her teammates and coaches. For Kallie, her teammates mean everything. She credits them for pushing her forward and supporting her along the way, saying she wouldn’t be where she is today without the incredible girls she has cheered beside over the years.
In the classroom, Kallie brings the same focus and drive. Her favorite subjects are Anatomy and AP Chemistry, fitting interests for someone planning a future in healthcare. She is also involved in the National Honor Society, showing her commitment to leadership and excellence beyond athletics.
At home, Kallie looks up to her parents as her role models. They have taught her the importance of staying positive through challenges and focusing on what can be done instead of what went wrong. These values show up in her everyday habits, especially her dedication to teamwork and her willingness to show up to every practice ready to give her best.
After high school, Kallie plans to earn her associate’s degree in Allied Health, then continue on to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Whether leading cheers like a crowd favorite, “Get up and shout it out CCS,” or encouraging her teammates behind the scenes, Kallie is known by friends and family as loyal, reliable, and approachable. Her character shines just as brightly as her achievements.
